BRENTWOOD -- The latest in home building and design will be featured at scenic Montclair neighborhood during the fall SunTrust Parade of Homes set for September 27 through October 12 off Moore's Lane in Brentwood, Tennessee.
Anne McKnight, parade chairman, said the event is an opportunity for the public to see the latest in home building and technology, interior decorating and landscaping ideas.
"We are very happy SunTrust is joining us again in presenting the Parade. Four fully furnished homes will impress visitors with ideas in home construction, materials, design and technology like Honeywell's comprehensive Climate Control System. New faux painting techniques like stylized dragging and negative frottage are highlighted as well as ideas for a napping porch and an outdoor southwest fireplace. Children's rooms with cheerleading, fraternity, sports and teddy bear themes will delight visitors. We are also premiering a new company - Prestige Power - and their stainless steel grill," McKnight said.
Bill Long, senior vice president and residential mortgage lending divisional manager for SunTrust Bank, said his organization is pleased to continue to promote new ideas in the home building industry.
"SunTrust Mortgage is very excited and proud to again be the sponsor of the Parade of Homes. We've experienced record numbers of home loans this year, due in part to the historic low interest rates. We've also noticed a significant building boom, particularly in Williamson County. I strongly believe that the Parade of Homes continues to be a catalyst for that boom. With programs and products to meet all sectors of our market, we at SunTrust are able to meet most, if not all, demands for mortgage financing. We look forward to meeting you at the beautiful Montclair subdivision," Long said.
The SunTrust Parade building team includes: Steve Cates, Cates Construction with Sara Gillum Interiors; David Weekley Homes with Kathy Andrews Interiors, Houston, TX; John Wieland Homes with Elizabeth Spangler, EPID Co. Inc. of Atlanta, GA; and Fedrick, Harris Estate Homes with Sara Gillum Interiors.
A community of distinctive homes, Montclair is a pastoral setting among lush green hills where visitors are welcomed by an exquisite entry of beautiful landscaping and native limestone masonry. The four Parade houses are located on a graceful boulevard of homes off a European-style roundabout centered by a granite obelisk. From French Country and French Renaissance to American Traditional, the homes are between 4,000 and 5,000 square feet and priced under $700,000 with thousands of dollars of furnishings, artwork and draperies.
New to the Parade this year are uses of glass tile, a weeping mortar joint, Eramosa
Marble and new floor designs with stunning madras gold slate, a tumbled marble key surrounded by white oak strips. Colors like winter sea, dusty amber and burnt cinnamon will impress visitors as will the four home's fully furnished home entertainment rooms.
The SunTrust Parade of Homes at Montclair, off Moore's Lane in Brentwood, takes place daily September 27 - October 12 from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. with the last ticket being sold at 7 p.m.. Tickets available on-site are $9.00 for adults and children under twelve are free and this year's benefiting charity, Special Olympics Tennessee, receives a portion of the proceeds. Radio Personality Phil Valentine Holds Book Signing Friday
After an award winning night, the SunTrust
Parade of Homes at Montclair in Brentwood had a busy opening weekend
with visitors seeing the latest in home decorating ideas, building,
design and technology. Radio personality Phil Valentine, of WLAC
AM, will be holding a book signing on site this Friday, October
3 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The SunTrust Parade of Homes is presented annually by the Home Builders
Association of Tennessee to showcase the new-home building industry's
finest work in architecture, interior design, landscape and home
furnishings, according to Parade chairman Anne McKnight.
Some of the new products and ideas being showcased include Honeywell's
comprehensive Climate Control System, Eramosa marble, a kitchen
floor mosaic, southwestern outdoor fireplace, unusual paint techniques
like negative frottage and stylized dragging as well as unique drapery,
bedding and lighting.
Steve Cates of Cates Construction earned top honors for Best Of
Show with Sara Gillum Interiors with their French Renaissance style
home, Beaujolais. The team also earned Best Decorating, Best Craftsman
and Best Faux Finish, with faux painter Steve Stanford, Renaissance
Design Studio of Arrington. The 4,200 square foot home has a soaring
two-story foyer leading to the striking copper colored dining room
and music room with a barrel entry and Venetian marble finish. Beautiful
artwork, deep trim work and gorgeous furniture from Jones Home Furniture,
of Columbia, fully appoint the spacious home.
The Freeman, built by David Weekly Homes with Kathy Andrews Interiors,
earned Best Master Suite, Best Interior House Design and Best Interior
Finishes. The 4,016 square foot weathered brick American traditional
style home has a spacious floor plan with soaring ceilings and beautiful
draperies. A barrel entry with an art niche leads to the master
suite with a reversed niche headboard and sitting area with a rectangular
trey ceiling.
The Albright, built by John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods with
interiors by Elizabeth Spangler, earned Best Kitchen for its gourmet
style with tropical brown granite counters, vintage white cabinets
and stainless steel appliances. The 4,333 square foot traditional
style home has a white washed red brick exterior with an elegant
columned entry. Adorable children's rooms are packed with colorful
ideas easy to adapt.
Finally, The Jackson, by Fedrick, Harris Estate Homes earned Best
Landscaping. Subtle grace brings old world warmth to the Country
French style 4,400 square foot home. A baked apple stylized dragging
finish dramatically wraps the dining room. A negative frottage treatment
in the powder bath is an elegant back drop for a vanity from Riverside
Antiques in Franklin. An inviting napping porch has a romantic daybed,
smoky chestnut colored bead board ceiling and a brick fireplace.
The room showcases a Stillwell retractable awning and popular privacy
screen.
